There were so many operating systems to choose from—iOS,android,Windows, meebo, webOS,Blackberry OS (goes on) and now Ubuntu?

Canonical, creators of Ubuntu recently mentioned that they will be entering the Cellular World along with tablets and SmartTV’s and will be announcing the news at Ubuntu Developer Summit this week in Florida said in the interview with ZDNet.Canonical will be focusing on mobile devices after Ubuntu 12.04. There are not yet any specific details as when will the company release its first Ubuntu device except some Rumors.

Are there any chances for Ubuntu to stand out between Operating Systems like iOS,Android,Windows? Sure canonical’s must have at least thought of some strategy to be in the race(if atleast cant dominate the smartphone leaders). Yet there are lot of surprises to come from there side.

If you own a Samsung device and you’re wondering whether it’s going to get Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich, Samsung Italy has the answer for you. According to Italian tech blog, HDBlog.it , Samsung Italy has confirmed which devices will be getting the very pretty Ice Cream Sandwich update. Judging by the list that has been confirmed so far, things don’t look too promising for owners of older Samsung Android phones.
So which devices have been confirmed for now?

Unsurprisingly we’ve got the Galaxy S2, and the Galaxy Note 5.3 on the top of the list. The rest of the devices are Samsung’s latest tablets – the Galaxy Tab 10.1, Galaxy Tab 8.9, Galaxy Tab 7.7 and Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. No mention of the original Galaxy S or the original Galaxy Tab 7 – despite the fact that the devices aren’t even two years old.

But frighten not, third party solutions from the developer’s community should solve those problems.

With the decreasing gap between television sets and Internet it is now possible to access almost anything from your Smart TV with your “remote control” BUT not too long.

Yes here comes—Siri after various attempts of including keyboard, mouse, ipod, iphone and even ipads as remote(none of which made a heavy impact) by apple.

Apple is trying even harder to completely eradicate the gap by introducing its artificial intelligent software—Siri. It’s like science-fiction. You sit on your couch and rather than “play” with several remotes or use hand gestures, you simply talk: “Put on the last episode of How I met your mother.” “Play the headlines for today.” “Play some Coldplay music” and yes Siri does the rest.

Of course the tail would go on (apart from asking some retard questions) which whould definitely bring an impact again from the apple after its introduction of first tablet.

“Apple television would have the simplest user interface one could ever imagine” Steve jobs explaining his biographer Walter Isaacson. By this Steve has just made another impact on the world.

“On my quest to learn more about the Apple television project, I learned that executives at Apple knew as far back as 2007 that the company would eventually make a ‘dedicated TV’. This realization came shortly after the company released the Apple TV, a box that connects to any manufacturer’s television to stream iTunes content. Consumers did not flock to the Apple TV, and rather than abandon the project, Apple began calling it a hobby.” said Nick Bilton from New York times.

Who knew that Apple’s hobby would lead us to the futuristic world.

So when will Apple release its next huge impact?

It is said that The company  needs to wait until the cost of large displays falls. The company is now close enough that it could announce the product by late 2012, releasing it to consumers by 2013.

Clearly the product is still in developing stage but the news is definitely killing the patience inside every one of us.

Google has revealed that it very first phone Nexus one is too old for Android 4.0 that is the hardware is too old to run its new Android 4.0 while it will still be giving upgrades to its Nexus S users to Android 4.0.Android Product Management lead Hugo Barra made this comment against Microsoft CEO Steve Ballmer’s taunt on Android’s complex behaviour claiming that ANdroid phones “needed a computer science degree” to use while Windows Phones are much more simpler to use.

The iPhone 4S , was over all  a disappointment by many tech gurus and writers(still managed to sell 1million units in a single day). It looks like the gurus have no idea what real people want.
The first hint of demand came when Apple’s entire site crashed after the iPhone 4S announcement event last Tuesday. Then when Apple, along with its cellphone carrier
partners, opened their virtual doors for pre-orders before the weekend, the payment servers were brought to their knees under high demand.
Apple says that this is the fastest-selling first day for any Apple product, ever, beating the
previous record holder, the iPhone 4, which sold 600,000 units on its first day.
The iPhone 4 went on to blow past that number, selling 1. 7 million units in the first weekend of actual sales (not just pre-orders). Who knows how many will be sold when the iPhone 4S ships this Friday?
It seems that actual, paying customers are a little more insightful than whining, jaded
tech writers. Whilst these professionals sat complaining about the lack of a “5 ″ in the
new iPhone’s name, and the fact that Apple had decided to keep the great- looking industrial design of the iPhone 4, the
general public saw the great new camera, a Star Trek -like talking assistant and a much
faster computer, and then took out their wallets.

India introduced a cheap tablet
computer Wednesday, saying it
would deliver modern technology to the countryside
to help lift villagers out of
poverty. The computer, called Aakash,or “sky” in Hindi, is the latest in a series of “world’s cheapest” innovations in India that include a 100,000 rupee
($ 2,040 ) compact Nano car, a
750 rupee ($ 15) water purifier and $2 ,000 open- heart surgery.
Developer Datawind is selling the tablets to the government for about $45 each, and subsidies
will reduce that to $35 for students and teachers. In comparison, the cheapest Apple
iPad tablet costs $499 , while the recently announced Kindle Fire will sell for $199 .
Datawind says it can make about 100,000 units a month at the moment, not nearly enough to
meet India’s hope of getting its 220 million
children online.
Human Resources Development Minister Kapil
Sibal called the announcement a message to all
children of the world.
“This is not just for us. This is for all of you who are disempowered,” he said. “This is for all those who live on the fringes of society.”
Despite a burgeoning tech industry and decades
of robust economic growth, there are still hundreds of thousands of Indians with no
electricity, let alone access to computers and information that could help farmers improve
yields, business startups reach clients, or students qualify for university.
The launch – attended by hundreds of students,
some selected to help train others across the
country in the tablet’s use – followed five years
of efforts to design a $10 computer that could
bridge the country’s vast digital divide.
“People laughed, people called us lunatics,”
ministry official N.K . Sinha said. “They said we
are taking the nation for a ride.”
Although the $10 goal wasn’t achieved, the
Aakash has a color screen and provides word
processing, Web browsing and video
conferencing. The Android 2.2 -based device has
two USB ports and 256 megabytes of RAM.
Despite hopes for a solar-powered version -
important for India’s energy- starved hinterlands
- no such option is currently available.
Both Sibal and Datawind CEO Suneet Singh Tuli
called for competition to improve the product
and drive prices down further.
“The intent is to start a price war. Let it start,”
Tuli said, inviting others to do the job better and
break technological ground – while still making a
commercially viable product.
As for the $10 goal, “let’s dream and go in that
direction. Let’s start with that target and see
what happens,” he said.
The students Wednesday were well-briefed on
the goal of providing tablets for the poor,
although most in attendance already had access
to computers at home or in their schools.
“A person learns quite fast when they have a
computer at home,” said Shashank Kumar, 21, a
computer engineering student from Jodhpur,
Bihar, who was one of five people selected in his
northern state to travel to villages and
demonstrate the device. “In just a few years
people can even become hackers.”
India, after raising literacy to about 78 percent
from 12 percent when British rule ended, is now
focusing on higher education with a 2020 goal
of 30 percent enrollment. Today, only 7 percent
of Indians graduate from high school.
“To every child in India I carry this message. Aim
for the sky and beyond. There is nothing holding
you back,” Sibal said before distributing about
650 of the tablets to the students.
